At Jefferson Elementary, the H.E.A.R.T.S. after-school program runs from the dismissal of school each day until 6 p.m. The program includes an academic hour led by Jefferson Elementary teachers and a tutorial staff that provides direct instruction and/or Homework Help, a nutritious snack, and enrichment activities such as recreation, arts and crafts, drama, cooking, etc. A Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA) oversees the program.

The H.E.A.R.T.S. program will run Monday through Friday from dismissal of school to 6:00 pm daily. This includes Wednesdays when school is dismissed early at 1:15. There will be an academic hour led by Jefferson teachers followed by enrichment activities provided by college students.

When you enroll your child, you are making the commitment that you will have your child stay until 6:00 pm everyday in order to receive the benefits of the entire program. Space in the program is limited and there will be a waiting list.
